Task 1 - Thoughts about Pi 2.0

Here is what I wrote after Task 1 while I was trying Whiteboard.

Pi 2.0 lesson one comments:
It strikes me that I could be using technology to make my admissions work better. Just like one article talked about the principal reading the teacher blogs and then making his/her own blog which the superintendent read every week, I could do the same for admissions. I can take interesting info from teachers and blog to the rest of the folks who do admissions tours.

I was blown away by how many links these sites have to useful information. There is even a Web 2.0 pocket dictionary . David Jakes’ article of professional development was interesting – he talked about using blogs, social bookmarking, and podcasting to create “personal learning environments.”

Other stuff I didn’t know: the word blogosphere (which doubles in size every six months), Del.icio.us (social bookmarking service), aggregator, and so on.

Why is the formatting so hard in writeboard?

I am going to try to speed my way through Pi 2.0. I got a late start and now only have a week before leaving town. Then I'll be back after August 13th. I know it isn't likely that I'll finish, but I'll do my best.

I had no idea the word BLOG came from Web log.
